40k fun

 Hey Dan, I play IG and have not played since the new rules came out, so I too am looking to get back into the swing of things. I am free all afternoon and evening tomorrow if you want to get a game in.  Post a reply and let me know. 

Hi there! I'm so glad I got a reply to that hehe...the only thing is I'm not free tomorrow until 8pm. But I have all of Saturday unplanned I believe, we'll have to schedule something for sure.

 I have to work at 3pm on Saturday, but if you want to meet right when the store opens at 10am I am sure that we can get a game in. Disclaimer: I only have about a thousand points right now, so I can't really handle any massive battles.

I know I've already said this but great game! I very much appreciate playing an army painted to near completion not unlike my own. Very visually pleasing. And you are a very worthy/relaxed player who I would very much like to play against again :)

 It was a great game! I have already been thinking about how I can tweak my army and try to counter some of the things that gave me trouble in the game. I look forward to playing you again, having the prospect of another game motivates me to paint more! I will post later on in the week about whether I can make it again this Saturday.

 Hey Dan, just wanted to make sure that we are still on for Saturday. Also, I can now field 1200 points, so we can expand the game a little bit if you would like.

Yes, I will be there at open. I am trying to make it a four man match 2v2 but we'll see if that pans out the way I want it too. If it does I was thinking we would each field 1000 points but maybe the majority would also like to play 1200. More points does tend to equal more fun. I'm excited, see you there!

 Cool! a 2v2 would be very fun. A thousand point each would probably be easier to manage in that kind of a game, but I will bring both lists just in case.

Hey All! Great game today. It was cool to play with that mix of players and armies.

I really like the Idea of a map based campaign like we talked about today. I know that we mentioned the biggest difficulty in getting a Campaign like that started was finding a time that we could all play. What if we used the Forums or maybe a FB group to take care of assigning matches and keeping track of territories, and then instead of trying to get 4 or 6 peoples schedules to work out we would only have to work out the match between 2 players? 

That is a GREAT idea!! Very manageable with that type of setup. I'm gonna recommend that both Tonys take a look at this thread and see what you're talking about. I'm gonna recommend a few more of my friends try and do this too. I think we should all get together and discuss some of the things we could try to put together to make this campaign work. This intrigues me...a lot :P Let's both start jotting down ideas for this.

This is a pretty good map of the 40k Universe. I was thinking what if we battled for a sector and each battle represented the taking or holding of a planet. That way we can avoid the typical hoard-of-armies -descending-on-planet-x-for-a-relic-slug-fest. We could say holding different worlds would give you bonus's

If you look on the far right of the map you can see Tau space and the nearby Imperial worlds along with 2 'Nid invasion fleets all jammed into one area. It would be pretty easy to carve up that area and start battling for those worlds.   

This is such an amazing idea! I've already begun surfing the web for previous ideas like this. I think with enough people willing to participate and a good sit down to discuss how we would like to do this we could make this happen,  and I believe the results would be very satisfying. Especially seeing as how only two people really need to get together per week, we could do more if more people could show up, but we only NEED two. I'm going to continue to spread the word Mat, I've asked others to log on and see this thread, let's try our best to make this a reality! For the Greater Good! :P

 Hey all, I have to work again this Saturday, but I am off for the next two days. I will also be off Friday after 3:00pm if anyone wants to get together to play.

Also,  I would like to go ahead and set Saturday the 27th at open for a game and also a time to brainstorm and set rules for the campaign. 

I also have today and Thursday off. I could also play Friday. There are a lot of ideas floating around for the campaign too so a brainstorm would be perfect, I'm fairly certain both Tonys will be there also. Let me know about the game.

Hey Matt, I was wondering if you work at 3 this Saturday? Because I work 11-7 30 Friday night so I would be going on no sleep if we had to do it at open. Of course, if you do, I'll go anyways, sleep depravity won't stop me from gaming :P Just wanna know ahead of time. Oh, and I'm working on getting some people to show up to discuss campaign ideas like I promised.

I decided against being there at open and not sleeping. I'll be there at 2 30ish.

Hi guys sorry it's taken so long for me to sing on but I finaly made it. Sorry that I haven't been to the store this past satordays I started in a new job and I work satordays until 5pm. I'm free on fridays and every other sunday off, I would love to set a game up for one of those days or satorday after 5pm. In respect to the campain I have good ideas that I would like to discuss to see if we could integrate them into the campain some how.

Primarily I was thinking about the fac that in warhammer there is no way of taking into accuont the ingenuity of the Generals meaning us. I'll explain a little more. I play Deamonhunters so lets say the tou are invaiding a planet to free it from the Imperial grip. The Tao forces land and have to secured  a staging point from where to cotinue the invation and to facilitate the movement of troops from orbit. ok so now we have a satge, we roll for mission, deploiment and set the terain, then roll to pick table sides/first turn, and then we deploy our army. thats the trditional way.

Hey Tony!! We'll have to set up a time to play because I miss our 1 v 1 matches. I think I'm free this Friday, message back and let me know what you think about that.

I'll have to get back to you on that 'cause this Friday is my birthday and I know my wife has something planed for me but I should be able to take a few hours right is my friking birthday, but I also have the next sunday off too so we can play too; but anyway let me know what time you got free on Friday so I could check if that's doable for me.

ok so on the above mention senario we have our forces deploy and everything is out in the open so after this is done stratergy becomes secundary thing on the backgraond, when in a real battle ground the defending general can try to set an ambuch or rig the field with explosive and a hole buch of things more that are diternain by the terain and the imagination of the general. To put this in to play I propose having a person that would serve as referee to diternain if what the generals are proposing is not only fare but that it has some logic bihind it to suport it. We have to get together and come up with something that would be agreeable to all. *(sorry for the horros in spelling).
