This is kind of cool. Wizards of the Coast just released a stripped down D&D rules set that you can acquire as a free PDF download. It has fun, simple art, simple rules and looks like it might be good for bringing new kids into the hobby. It's suggested for ages 6 and up.

It should be noted that HoH is 4th ed based.  If someone is looking to bring kids into a 3rd ed system istead, I'd suggest Microlite d20:
