Howdy Greenfield Gamers,

My name is Matt Webster (Trajanius@gmail.com)

I've been reading the posts on your forum and making plans to stop up there to check out the store, but I figured I could just post something first.

I belong to a gaming group that meets on Monday nights in Pittsfield.  We've got  about 10 regulars and we play a wide variety of games. Mostly miniatures, but board games are also well liked. Some bullet points

  •  about 1/2 of our gamers are former 40K players (who still have a wide variety of armies)
  • our group ranges from 18 to 64  (so we run the gamut of ages and backgrounds)
  • Flames of War is a pretty well liked game and we play it once or twice a month
  • we play lots of other games, too many to list in fact.
  • our most common games are;   Flames of WarDisposable Heroes (WWII platoon level skirmish), Field of Glory (ancients)
  • between all are members we have lots of other games that get mixed in, Cowboy shoot outs, Samurai, zombie/werewolf skirmish, Revolutionary, Civil War, and more

Our club is always looking for people who enjoy gaming.

We are finishing a campaign (which we designed ourselves) which pitted Axis vs, Allies in a small region of Northern Italy, each side attempting to secure and hold the three main towns in the area.  Feel free to check it out

Anyone who has an interest in playing games (or introducing new ones) is welcome. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

We meet on Mondays, 6 PM at Conte Community School in Pittsfield MA

it's good to know that you guys are out there. I might have to head over and check out the group.

The store doesn't get too much historical gaming happening (aside from Flames of War) but I have personally been involved in it recently with a small group that meets outside of the store. I even played a couple of games of Disposable Heroes last month (for the first time).

Our group has actually been spending a lot of time with Wings of War, Commands & Colors: Ancients, and creating our own game for King Philip's War skirmishes.

Well dang, another Matt! I think you may be our fourth or fifth; I don't know all of them, so I can't be sure. In any case, welcome aboard!

My name's Kassidy, and I'm a weekend regular and former register monkey at the store. I think that it'd be great to see some historical war gaming take place at the shop. We have some excellent terrain, lots of friendly players, and a ton of space. I also happen to know that we have a number of regulars with Flames of War armies who would love to play, but it just never happens!

I'm sure that if your club were to show up, you could rekindle regular play here at the store. It'd be a blast to see the game played; I've only tried it once with a friend's German army, and I've only seen one or two games otherwise.

Hope to see you and the others around some day!

Disposable Heroes is a pretty solid and fun system.

Command and Colors Ancients is great (even better when you use miniatures instead of those blocks)

Homebrew rules are always welcome.  2 of our members have pretty big collections of colonial troops

Another guy is starting to collect American Revolution figures in 40mm.

There's always room for people to play in our club games. Let me know when you're planning to stop in &  I can set up a game that you'd be interested in.

Kassidy,

We've got three Matt's in our club so it may be trouble!

A couple of guys in the club have been itching to  make a weekend trip up to the store so maybe we can kill two birds with one stone

FoW has been really popular with most of our club and we've got pretty much every army that can be played.

I'll bring up the idea on Monday with the rest of the club and try and get something set up.

Matt

Any chance you'll be at Totalcon this weekend?
