Hello folks. Greywolf here. I am an officer over at The 131 gaming club and spend most of my gaming time at either Base Camp in Russell or Off the Wall in Hadley. Charlie and I have bumped heads in the past over at our forums based purely on perceived misconceptions of each other. As a step to bridge that divide between us, I have started an account here. That being said, we have buried the hatchet so to speak and have started a clean slate. I have invited him to post events for GG on our site and I hope that it will be possible to do the same for our events here. I look forward to meeting some of you in the near future and to also possibly attend some of your events.

Thanks for reading and happy gaming!

Jeff

As a general rule, we don't mind if people mention that other events are going on in the area. Our guys (Charlie among others) already do a pretty good job of that. We do tend to get cranky when people ONLY come to post about events going on in other areas.

So, if you're planning to hang out and talk gaming, it's all good.

Welcome to our online home! I think that you'll find that we're a wicked friendly crowd, with a mix of casual and serious gamers. The forums have been very quiet lately, especially the usually-buzzing general and food sections, but there are still plenty of neat discussions about some newly released or up-and-coming models for minis games.

As the resident RPG guy, I figure that I ought to ask if you branch out into more than minis games. We have all sorts of neat people around here with a variety of interests, so there's plenty of overlap and not a lot of solidly defined grouping for players. I play Malifaux and Infinity (skirmish-scale combat seems to fit my style better than large-scale games like those made by Privateer and GW) for minis, but I tend to stick to board, card and roleplaying games.

Favorite Games: Rifts, World of Darkness, D&D 3.5, Shock, 1,001 Nights, Alpha Omega, Trail of Cthulhu, MonsterPocalypse, Magic: the Gathering, Dust, Universal Fighting System, Last Night on Earth, Anima: Beyond Fantasy

@ Jay - while it is not my intention to only post events here, I of course will more than likely not be as active as the local group and understandably. I just wanted to make sure that cross promotion of events was not frowned upon. Also, I will not post events that would be in direct competition with any events that GG puts on. Such as if both locations had a 40K event on the same date, I would not post ours here and the other would not be allowed on ours as well. I (and the club) while wanting to expand the gaming community as a whole, we also want to extend common courtesy to all other gaming clubs and stores in the area in regards to events. My hope is that by cross promoting events between local clubs and stores, that we can help fill slots in all types of events to give all New England gamers a more broadened gaming experience. As you will see around the webs, we cross promote with local clubs and stores from Maine down to CT.

@ Kassidy - our club is very diverse in the types of games played. While miniatures games are the predominant ones played, plenty of our members participate in RPGs, card based games, and others to boot. Currently, the only thing that is not played by any of the 55 club members is MTG. That usually takes place on a different night at OTW and we typically do not have any cross over players. But if you have events for any of that stuff and you are the one in charge of running them at GG, you are more than welcome to post interest threads on our forums in the Non-club Events section. The only rule we have on that is what I mentioned above. No competing events are allowed to be posted as we do not want to divide players from different areas and take the chance on drawing players away from an event in their own area of play. Other than that, its pretty much open. If you, Jay, Charlie, or anyone at GG has any questions about posting events on our forums, please feel free to contact me here or at our forums anytime.
