For those of you that DON'T know, Pathfinder is the new D&D clone from Paizo Publishing. And when I say it's a clone... it is essentially D&D 3.75. Almost, but not quite, D&D 3.5.

Why would you want it? Well, obviously there have been some folks who were perfectly happy with 3.5 and didn't want to upgrade. Unfortunately, those people are having difficulty getting books for their pals who also want to play. The original 3.5 books are now getting collector prices. Pathfinder, on the other has, is about $50 for what amounts to the Players Handbook + the DMG.

If you're intrigued but want a more robust description of the product, then check out this posting at Gnome Stew as it has a really good look at what's in it and what's different.

Everything I've heard is that Pathfinder is next to perfection.  It has all the feel of 3.5, but fixes all the major bugs with some really good stuff.  It even makes some of the lamer classes (bard, etc) REALLY cool.

It's odd, the extreme lack of bad things I've heard about this product, other than it selling out in most places. We still have a couple copies.
