September 19th. Mixed Warmachine and Hordes tournament! This is a special one!!!
This is going to be a REAL special one. You see, September 19th is a very special day.
It is a day that is sacred to followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and a day that is quite relavent (in my opinion) to PRIVATEER Press. That day of course is...
Talk like a pirate day!!
Upon this special day, scalywags from across New England shall gather, buckle their swash, and battle for glory and coin! Argh, mayhaps not coin, but glory at the very least...and a special prize for the overall winner supplied (and BUILT!) by yours truly!
There be no entry fee so come one, come all!!
Format: Steamroller pure and simple, 35 points.
Date: September 19th
Time: Noon!
Place: Greenfield Games
Entry fee: Nothin'!
Prizes: To be announced
Special rules:
Bein' such an important day, we're addin' a wee bit to make things more interestin'!
1. Once per game, give a hearty "YAR!" , "ARRR!", "AVAST!", or other iconic buccaneer exclamation, and you get to reroll one roll of any type. But it needs to be loud enough for all to hear!
2. If'n yer come dressed in pirate regalia, you get a one time use (as in usable once during the entire tournament) free dice to an attack or damage roll. Please be notin' proper dress is more than just a bandana!
Expect tables with water features!
More information may be posted as I get it / think of it!
I'm thinking 35 will work.
Rena and I will be there.
Cool!
One week away! Who's ready to walk the plank!
YAAAR!!!!
Only six days to go!
Charlie, any problem if I bring a Carver list? I don't know if I am going to play it but man the only thing cooler than those pigs are GATORS!
This is going to be more for fun, so yes, I think Carver would be very cool to see.
The weekend is here! Pirate Time!
Well it looks like a no go for the Carver list. The list really needs to field at least two units of Farrow Brigands to really make it shine (and maxing out the units would be extra sweet too) and I only have a base unit and two additional models. Instead I am just going ot bring a themed list with me and have some FUN!
Don't you have a pirate army?
And good times were had by all!
As a special surprise, I made some special terrain for the event. Boats docks and some blue felt water features. The boats didn't come out as good as I wanted because I had to scramble to get paint for them (my original monster pot of brown paint had dried up), but they worked just fine I think.

We had a pretty decent turnout with six people playing, and some even were sporting Pirate regalia!

YAAARRR!!!!
The prize by the way was the cutlass I am holding in this picture. Aubrey and his Skorne took the blade home with 3 wins. Coming close was John, Joe and Rena with 2 wins each!
It was a good time!
My pirates took on Cryx, Retribution and Skorne (the Retribution battle you can see in the second pic above). Denny brought a army of just warjacks and Rahn brought the Mage Hunters and the Nyss Hunters but Shae and his pirates made them walk the plank. Unfortunately, Epic Morghoul and his skorne overwhelmed and managed to kill Shae. But at least the pirates didn't give up any control points! That was the first tournament with Shae and the Commodore and I have to say that is one mean cannon.
Great times! Thanks to Alex, Joe, and John for three really pleasant and fun games! You guys really made me work for it :)
Big thanks to Charlie too, very fun event, casual, collegial atmosphere. Nice work!

Yeah, I wanted this one to be a little more laid back...
...but I'm thinking the October Flashpoint event is going to be a "BRING YOUR A-GAME" event!!!

What's the point total? I find 25 or 35 point total, nice for tournaments. 50 points has too many models.
