Get FOW rolling again
I was wondering if there were any people out there who are still interested in playing Flames of War. I live in Granby but I would be willing to travel if I could find an opponent. I play American, German, and Russian. I have a small gaming group that I might be able to bring with me that includes 2 German players and a British player. I made an offer to run a campaign before and I would run one again if there were enough interest in one. I guess I am just trying to get a feel as to where people are with Flames. I hope it doesn't die at this location because it is a great system. So - who's in? :D
Ive got a ton of russians that need play so I'd be interested.

I'd love to get a few more battles in now & then. I have a recently dusted-off, fairly typical mid-war bunch of Germans & then some Soviet Infantry I've never properly based and played. Jal & I are trying to head toward late war for his British commandos' sake, but he's still learning the rules and I am trying to remember them, as it's been about a year since I played with any regularity so I'm still trying to recall the shifts from 1st ed to 2nd ed.
If you want to start a campaign, I'd say keeping it simple and small to start would greatly increase it's chances of success. I'll give a tentative "I'm in" based on free time and such.

I wish I could get up to the store more often ...and had money. I'd totally play this again,

I am glad that there seems to be some interest. I was wondering if the people interested in playing wanted to set up a specific night as a "flames of War" night - just a way to let people know when they could expect to find an opponent. Wednesdays work really well for me but my schedule is quite flexible. Let me know what you think.
I think that I'm going to be looking at adding some items to the auction with the express purpose of getting the funds to start a new army.
You know, the Italians look kinda fun...

The Italians look fun indeed. I have seen them played in the mid-war era and they can, if competently led, go toe to toe with any army. My American rifle company has lost as many times as it has beaten an Italian army - my Americans have a better record against Germans!! Definitely a worthwhile army.
Thursday late afternoon or evening would work for me. Although I can see late afternoon being impossible for most.
I don't think I could do it every week, but we could sometimes plan on going past closing. Maybe once a month or every other week.

I can play most days, if given a heads up. I get out of work at 2:10, and don't do much after, except make dinner and pick up my sister from school on Wednesday's.

There's a new set coming out this week, Firestorm—Bagration, and this thing is jam-packed with possibilities. From new skirmish level rules to massive mega battles. There's supposedly a campaign system as well as even a separate board game that can be played alone or as a form of supplementing a campaign that has a small number of players by sort of simulating more players.
I'm going to pick one up and see if it would be easy to implement as a framework for starting an in-store campaign. Either way, I think it's about time to start up some semi-organized play, probably focused on Thursday evening.
I just read the Pionierkompanie briefing they posted on the website. I MUST play this game!!! I mean what's better then germans with flamethrowers, tigers and remote controlled suicidal exploding little tanks?? What I want to know is if the frequency of games has picked up at all? That's the only thing stopping me from jumping in right now, besides funds.

I always thought it was cool, but nobody played so I never started. If you started it up again I would probably start, even if it's just a small army.
