Ok I hate painting dirt. Im not ripping all the models off my bases then putting dirt on, painting it, then putting the model back on. Thats just crazy talk.

So new plan, I need gray dirt.

So the true question is where do I get it? I searched online for model train stuff, but struck out. So where oh where do I get it? How can I find the gray dirt.

Ask Seth. He SHOULD be able to order something like this from a new distributor that we haven't yet used.

Ah, the new distributor with the catalog that reads like an electrician's wiring diagram, but with more lines? Maybe. I'm scared of them.

Just take some clean dirt/sand/kitty litter/modelling ballast, and some grey spray paint, a big tray/soda can box and paint the dirt. Or several shades via your air brush, to get different colored rocks. Shake it a lot, and keep the coats light, and it'll probably not stick.

Or lightly paint one side, don't shake it at all, let it dry, shake it alot, and repeat.
Some kitty litter is already grey, (and your cats will really dig your models,) but I suspect that will look wrong without paint.

Forgot to mention to avoid the kitty litter with the super clumping action.

As good at the kitty litter idea is, I really want to AVOID painting dirt. Matching th spraypaint and other such stuff is a pain. Also finding the right size dirt would be a problem too. I was kinda willing to pay MONEY to have people do that for me and put it in a bag for me to use black ink and dry brush over.

Model trains sounds like a good idea. The seach contunies
