According to the shows ratings I may be the only person who watches this show, but in the last episode there was a pretty funny model / game related scene.

The computer that is probably going to become skynet gets a terminator body to play around with. What would you do with a nearly invincible ultimate killing machine body? That's right! Paint models with your friend!

Also, If anybody wanted to see the actor who played the slasher geologist in Deadwood dress up like a Barbarian; this show has that as well!

----------------------------------------------

Anyway, I'll also plug the show while I'm at it. It has some really cool scenes. They have great fights (when they include Summer Glau's character, they do a great job of showing super strength), and the interaction between John and Cameron is pretty interesting (when it isn't too angsty). The show also takes a more detailed and consistent look at the ramifications of time travel in the terminator universe. Don't let the John angst in the first season or so get to you, there is some great payoff for it. They also do a good job of keeping you guessing about all of the machines in the show. The 'clearly good' Cameron has a sinister side. The 'clearly evil' T2000 singer from Garbage is painted with shades of Grey.

The show isn't without flaws. The first couple of episodes are very silly, they needed a reason to ignore the events in Terminator 3 and to get John to the present. After they get that out of the way the first season is pretty sweet culminating in one of the best season finales I've seen and followed up by an equally good season premiere. The show goes a little off the rails with Sarah following a blatantly stupid series of clues mid season 2, but eventually it gets back to the real core of the show; John Conner.

Terminator has the same problem that early Simpsons had. They picked the wrong character to focus on (early Simpsons is very Bart heavy, but later seasons focused the show on Homer, not that I've watched that show in years). They should have named the show "Terminator: John Conner Chronicles" and kept the majority of the story about John, Derek (his Uncle from the future), and Cameron (Terminator Summer Glau Style).

If any of that piqued your interest check it out for free on Hulu.com.

At the very least it is better than Dollhouse.

You, obviously, have not been been watching Dollhouse.

Oh yes I have. Joss Whedon is about to run out of my good will unless that show settles on what it wants to be.

Does it want to be MacGuyver with sex? Does it want to be Dark Angel: the early years? Does it want to be a super FBI agent goes off the rails tracking down a tricky super villain show? (this is the strongest choice right now)

Currently none of it works together. I don't care about Echo, Victor, or Serra. She and all of the dolls could die in a fire. The Dollhouse employees can die to knife stabs again. The clients are probably the worst of the lot. The show is most interesting when the Helo FBI agent extraordinaire is on the screen, but he is just constantly duped. Every character on the show except for Helo and the lady who helps him get records are entirely morally bankrupt or sub human. This includes Echo's handler we are supposed to sympathize with. All of the characters could die in a fire Supernatural style (<3 the great purge of Season 2; Where they kill every recurring character besides the two brothers and Bobby, in a big fire off screen).

I'll admit the newest episode was fun because it had almost zero Echo and tons of Helo. However, it also winnowed our pool of likable characters down to 2 (well, actually 3. I could never hate the Lawyer from Battlestar). The people on the street interviews kinda sucked and detracted from watching Helo be awesome and bumble at the same time.

Alpha could spend an episode killing each and every one of Echos clients and employers and it would be better TV than what they have had so far. Hell, they even made me dislike the character played by Fred from Angel despite giving her Sexy scars.

Meh, it isn't the worst science fiction show I've watched, but I can't say that it exceeds Terminator in any respect. It even does the obsessed agent and super powered girl without emotions shtick better.
