I think Privateer Press was telling the truth with their press release which basically said that this new game wasn't for their current fans. I don't think this is a game that is going to catch on with Warmachine / Hordes players. It could, but from my limited experience people tend to move from Clix style games to classic war gaming rather than the opposite. It is a pretty obvious grab for the Clix market.
I have a feeling that the game will have a rough time getting a foot hold.
Then again it could just be that I'm bitter that Privateer Press didn't decide to make a sweet ship to ship combat game instead. Anyway, I'm going to go back to wishing for an updated release of Man-o-war, Battleship Gothic, and Mordhiem.

I don't want to repeat the mistake that I did when HaloClix came out and buy 7 boxes, only to find that people won't be playing it. So, I'll probably buy one or two boxes, see if I like the game, see if other people are likely to stick with the game, and then buy more from that point. Looks like a great game so far, so I'm hoping that it'll catch.

I'm curious who's going to play Monsterpocalypse and how far people are willing to go with purchases.
Me, I made the mistake of ignoring Hordes when it first came out, thinking I'd rather just concentrate on my Protectorate. Now look at me...my Hordes collection is almost as big...
You just can't go wrong with Privateer Press products!
So I'll be getting as much as I possibly can.
