Using Sketchup for Building Design
I was checking out the Infinity website and ran across this thread.
This gist of it is this: The OP is using Google Sketchup to create plans for miniature gaming buildings. He's going to make them available for download on his site (he says they're up but I can't see them there).
I downloaded Sketchup a year or two ago and this is the first thing that I thought about it. Looking at the designs that this guy created makes me think that this is a really cool way to come up with new building designs for a gaming table... even better, it's a good way to mock up a while table (which you can see later in the thread he has done).
I went looking for more designs like this in the Sketchup Warehouse, but didn't see anything.
The downloads are supposed to be here - http://www.barrule.com/workshop/extras/extras%20-%2030mm%20sci-fi%20buil... - but so far they haven't yet appeared. Keep an eye out. I expect that they'll be up soon.

The plans look simple and easy to follow. I didn't see a link to his plans or anything, just the images in the forum window.
I've got SketchUp Pro and it never dawned on me to use it for terrain building. Of course, I built my first terrain this year, thanks to you Jay. I have limited experience with SketchUp, but years of experience using more complicated CAD programs so the learning curve is slight. I might just use it to create some terrain for my new, upcoming, 40k hobby.
I would recommend to anyone to download the free version of SketchUp from Google and try it out. I think the latest version is 7.
How can I be condemned for the things I've done, if my intentions were good?
