Dark Wind (or.. Car Wars online)
I ran across this game a year or so ago and planned to give it a try. Then I forgot about it. Thanks to another forum I rediscovered it so I plan to try it out again as soon as I'm on my other computer with more time...
In a nutshell, this game is Car Wars played online in 3D with a physics engine. It's turn-based but it's also real-time with a physics engine. You have something like 30 seconds to plan out your next turn at which point the game shows you what happens during that turn in the 3D engine.
On top of that, it has something of an MMO element to it. You build up a gang, buy and sell cars, loot your enemies, go on missions... The stuff that I've been reading about it makes it sound pretty cool. Check out this review here - http://www.gametunnel.com/dark-wind-game-review.php
Yeah, I was unable to not give it a go.
Got a screen name: Huju, and a gang name: Prehumous Organ Donors (Yes, I know "prehumous" is not a real word or antonym to "posthumous." Tell it to the grille of my new subcompact.) I logged on and enjoyed the cool music, gave my gang members slick avatars, decided to bounce into a fight between just a couple cars as a spectator....and my computer went black and turned off again....
And with Mrs. Dirty Seth talking about new furniture purchases & where we're going this summer, I don't think we'll be getting that new computer anytime soon....whaaaaaa....Have fun playing smash-up-cars.
Oh no!!
That sucks. Any idea of what the problem may be? Possibly just a video card or the power supply?

ok, this game looks like it could be awesome as long as it doesn't take too much grinding to get random cars and crap that I wouldn't mind losing. Anyone else interested in trying it out?
It is very dark... You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.
