Official Release Launch Party: Saturday October 3rd, 1pm to about 6pm, $30.

Zendikar goes on sale Friday. We'll be holding our big release tournament Saturday. $30 gets you six packs, plus a unique promo card. We'll be running another Four-Round sealed event with 100% Zendikar boosters. Prizes will be similar to the pre-release: one pack awarded for every match win, plus more copies of the promo card for the top four players.

 

Pre Release: Saturday September 26th, 1pm to about 6pm, $25 (+Booster Draft after!)

In our early celebration of the first set of this new block, we'll be running a Four- Round sealed event with 100% Zendikar a week before it's release! $25 gets you six packs, plus 1 Rampaging Baloths promo card. We're trying something new for prizes this time: Each match win earns you a booster pack. The top 4 will also receive additional copies of the promo cards. Plus!>>>>

We'll be running a Zendikar booster draft directly following the end of the sealed event. $12 gets you three Zendikar boosters. It will have to be a redraft of rares at the end, as I cannot give out more packs as prizes during the pre-release.

For a heads up for those who like this kind of thing, the checklist for Zendikar has been released today, it does not include spoilers of what the cards do, just a listing of the cards.

While this is an item that will likely only effect two of us (Seth and I), I just wanted to point this out from the updated MTR that goes into effect on October 1st.

"Tournament officials and other staff of a tournament (including the Tournament Organizer and Scorekeeper) may participate in a DCI-sanctioned tournament of which they are a tournament official or staff if (and only if) the tournament is one of the following types:
  • Friday Night Magic
  • Prerelease
  • Launch Party
  • Magic Game Day
  • Other non-Premier Magic Tournaments
If tournament officials and other staff play in the event, it must be run at Regular REL and will have its k-value set at 8.  If tournament officials play in the event and the event is not one of the allowed event types listed above, the event will be invalidated.  Tournament officials and staff are required to officiate events fairly and without regard to their own self-interest."
