Howdy! Our SWM tourneys aren't official DCI events, so we aren't obligated to use any of this stuff but I've seen a few times where folks get into disagreements over things like map choice and the like so I thought I'd post the 'official' rules as it seems like a good starting point for clearing up any disputes.

Here's the link to all the DCI documents:
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dci/doccenter/home

150 point games isn't listed yet, but it's sanctioned as of GenCon (the Bounty Hunter release is 150, as well) and the map choices are same as in 100 (so Rigid Huges beware!). All the maps are legal in 100/150 except Korriban and the Endor Bunker (which is good, cause they both stink, IMO).

Only 3 maps are official for 200; Starship (the hard map from the ROTS starter), Rancor pit (from the Endor pack), and Throne Room (from the ROTS UM book).

But back to why I posted this; section 614! We skip part 2 (roll to choose map, Seth chooses the map for us), but part 3 says the players roll off and the winner chooses both which end he starts on and who sets up their squad first.

Thanks for reading this far, game on!

I was thinking about that too, but decided to skip the extra effort of having to figure out which map I'd want to use for each of the squads I made. Aside from not wanting to play on the Korriban map when its my jedi vs shooting droid bounty hunters.

D'oh!

I like Korriban for my Old Republic Jedi Shooting Team

Old Republic Assault Squad, 149 pts.
Jedi Consular, Jedi Guardian, Jedi Sentinel x4, Old Republic Commander, Old Republic Solider x3

Korriban (and the Endor Bunker, for that matter) is a great map for fun games. I have a copy and I've played some really fun games on it. The problem in that it's too unbalanced for tournament play. The only way to have a balanced game on Korriban is to play mirror teams. Any map that can generate an auto-loss for one player before a single figure is even placed on the board is a bad map for tournaments.

Auto-loss? what is that about?

Thanks for the link Blakester.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

The DCI floor rules have been updated (link in the first post). We've been playing with them in the store for a while now, but I thought I'd put them up in the forums.

Also, check out the map guide at the Holocron:
http://www.the-holocron.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=98...

It lists all the official maps, lets you know which ones are tourney legal, and gives some tips for each. Well worth the read.

Also, folks may be interested in the Master Online Glossary I maintain. It's updated pretty regularly and already includes the new glossary definitions from the starter that came out last week.

It's approved by the WotC online rules rep (_NickName_), so it's at least somewhat "unofficially official".
