I picked up the latest issue of Wargames Illustrated (the Flames of War: Vietnam issue) and spotted an interesting little tidbit of information. That is, that GW is still working on a set of rules of WWII.

Warhammer WWII is a rumor that's been popping up for several years now. Sort of like the 40K movie. You get excited the first couple of times your hear about it, then reality sets in and you assume that it's all nonsense. But every now and then the rumor surfaces with some concrete bit of information that gets you excited about it again. In this case, the news bit in the magazine mentions that somebody from Forgeworld was at this particular gaming event doing a demo of the rules and that they were going to be out some time next spring.

Okay, I'm excited again. Even more so because his little blurb mentions that while it's designed around 20mm minis (an odd choice) it will work fine with 15mm. Which means another reason to break out the Flames of War minis.

Yeah, this Spring I could be kicking myself for buying into the rumor again, but I sure hope it happens.
