Oh WOW! Nostalgia galore!
Yonks ago, Mark and I used to frequent the Dragons Lair East in Worcester (before the nutbag burned his own store down). One of the games that was pretty big there was Full Thrust.
It was basically a space combat game system that didn't have any accompanying models. So basically you could use whatever you had for models.
The rule books were pretty expensive. They are way out of print and you can only really find them on ebay now. And they are still stupidly expensive.
Well, lo and behold I found this site today. If you look in the download section you can get the rules for free.
There are also rules for future ground battles as well with lots of tanks and whatnot...

Well theres no reason he can't use the BFG models with the Full Thrust rules!
Alot of folks were talking about picking up a bunch of the new Star Wars Starships for their Full Thrust games.
Ooooooooo!
Now THERE is an idea! I've been hearing a few complaints that the starwars system is a bit lacking..heck, I played it and wasn't too impressed either.
THIS might be the system everyone is looking for!
Just in case no one was able to find the download link for Full Thrust:

Then, go here and find rules for doing Star Wars ships... as well as other famous SF backgrounds.
How cool is THAT?!?!?!

Full Thrust was an awesome set of rules. I had just about convinced Dave Fifield to play with my (at Epoch Studios) when Battlefleet Gothic came out - pretty much killing any hope that I had of playing that game.
