In an effort to keep people informed of coming events I've created a Google calendar that we can easily update to add upcoming events.

At the moment it only includes the weekly regular events. I was hoping you all might give it a look to see if there's anything unclear about the information as presented, or if there was something else that needs to be there.

Unlike Google Docs, this should be accessibly to anybody - even if you don't have any sort of existing Google account.

Good, but not perfect.

The auction isn't listed on the 26th, not that it would really give people much of a heads up at this point. Also the biweekly Warmachine / Hordes tournaments aren't listed on Saturdays. The pattern seems to have fallen into alternating 500 and 750 tournaments. The 750 tournaments alternate between Warmachine only and Hordes only. All of the events start at 1pm.

February 2nd there will be a 750 Warmachine only tournament. The 16th there will be a 500 mixed event. We move the Warmachine tournaments around a bit when Holidays or other events like the auction come up.

Just out of curiosity Eric...those bi-monthly tourneys...They won't burn people out will they?

When I was doing tournaments regularly, I was trying for once a month so people would get anxious....is the same level of excitment staying at twice a month?

Well, I've only had a steady rise in interest since I started. I almost always have 6 or 7 players which is more than enough. It isn't the same players each week, so I imagine the attendance could still improve. The only player that has attended every event is Chris (bless his blighted soul). Ideally, I'd like to see 8 players, that way everybody gets a match and I don't feel like we should be playing four rounds. That isn't to say I wouldn't like more people to attend, but 8 is the sweet spot.

I don't see any signs of people getting burned out. Honestly, the tournaments are just an excuse to play a lot of games and to play new people, something that people would have liked to do anyway but might have had problems finding somebody to play. I'm happy just so long as people are playing.

When I first threw the idea of running the tournaments out I was only planning on running one a month. However, people asked for biweekly tournaments so I went with that instead. Overall, I think that it has worked out well. I'd rather have two tournaments a month with 6 people than one with 8 people. If interest starts to really die down, I might scale things back, but I don't see a reason to yet.

So to sum things up, I'd say that I don't see any burn out and that I think things are really just getting started. I'm a die hard cynic and my title is Dirty Vulture, so that is really saying something.

So the calendar is nice but it looks as though you had it automatically copied the same for every week (if that is true you're open on Christmas for a Yu-gi-oh tournament) Also I was hoping for info on FREE GAME DAY and the next auction 'cause I always find out about them two weeks after they happen and I've been trying to get to one for like the last two years!!! Please add these events or e-mail me so I know when they'll happen! Thanks.

We can't add events until we've set a date for them. And, yes. Some of those events are weekly events and so we haven't gone through every week on the calendar to make sure that they don't correspond to Christmas. Though, one never knows. We were open this Easter.
