Campaign FALL 2008 Where: Greenfield Games When: Sundays @ 2pm (Starting Nov 2nd) Why: To encourage more Warhammer Fantasy gaming! Scoring: We are going to keep score by building a map using the mighty empires tiles. Each player when they enter the game gets to attach their six tiles to the map (along with flags!). How many flags you own represents how well you are doing in the campaign. Match Making: My scheme for match making is a little complicated, but bear with me. Each week you'll create a list with the names of all of the people in the campaign. If you played somebody in the previous week you'll put their names at the bottom of the list. You then list everybody else in order of who you would like to play. Each player will get up to two match ups a week. Starting with the player that has the least number of territories we'll make match ups based on their list. So the first person automatically gets their first two choices. This will continue until each player has two match ups. Playing the games: Players can play any point total game that they agree upon. They can also play any scenario that they agree upon, but each week there will be a 'recommended' scenario. For instance, for the first week the recommended scenario is good old fashion pitched battle. It is highly encouraged that players try to make time for at least one of their match ups each week. However, only the 2 drawn matches should be counted towards the campaign each week. What happens when you win: When a player wins a match they get to take one of their opponents territories. The losing players flag is removed and replaced by the flag of the winner. On a draw there is no change in ownership. How the campaign will be completed: After 5 weeks or after a player is eliminated from the map we will reset the map. The player with the most territory when a map reset occurs will be the victor! The not so popular stuff: Models should be fully assembled or best effort. Painted is a plus, but not required. Proxies are strictly out, but conversions and reasonable 'counts as' is fine.

The Orcs and I are up for it, is anyone else interested?

It is very dark... You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.

The Deamonic Horde has not poured forth from the Warp just to bake cookies and vote for Palin. Nay! We shall be there with Hemmingwayesque bells on our toes and ribbons of gore in our hair!

wOOt!

Hey Griffinator? Can you post who's playing what army and what color they are? If you don't have the colors listed, we'll just work them out during the week.

I need to see who's a high priority for Nurglization-transformation. Jal and his intrusive undead are first, of course.

Sorry about the wait everybody, I've been absolutely lost in Fallout 3.

Tom -- Gobbo's -- Silver
Alex -- Lizardmen -- Green
Jal -- Vampires -- Black
Jimob -- Dwarves -- Blue
Seth -- Demons -- Yellow
Eric -- Skaven -- Turquoise
Joe -- Orcs -- Dark Brown
Chris -- Swamp Dwarves -- White
Tim -- Tomb Kings -- Gold
Caitlin -- Goblins -- Tan
Andy -- Warriors of Chaos -- Red

Pairings
---------------------------
Jim -- Seth, Tom
Chris -- Eric, Tom
Caitlin -- Jal, Joe

There is a little weirdness in the pairings this week that will not occur again.

Yep, hence the weirdness.

Two people were added at the end, so besides doing a whole new list I needed volunteers. Jimbo actually has two, but he wasn't going to be available this weekend, so I didn't bother to fill in his other one. Chris volunteered and seemed like a good match up for Andy.

I really need those match up sheets before I start pairings to avoid this problem in the future.

Ok, as this is the last week of the campaign I'd be interested in hearing feedback. Please place constructive feedback in this thread. I don't think that I managed to ruffle any feathers with this event, but if I have please keep it civil and in PMs.

So here are my current plans for the next round of the campaign (pending feedback):

So far I'm thinking that next time we will do teams (assuming 12 or more people join the campaign). Each team will get 4 matchups a week which will be distributed the same way as before (underdogs get preference in match up choices). Each team will get 12 territories at the start of the campaign. And the campaign will end in 5 weeks or when the first team runs out of territories.

I'm thinking that I'll let players sort out their teams, but if there are issues I reserve the right to make changes. Teams can be of any size (ideally 2 or more), but there will only be 4 matchups a weeks for the entire team. The idea is to make the system more flexible for people who aren't as available. So if you liked the current pace form a team of 2. If you think you'll only be able to play rarely try and join a team of 3. No solo teams since very few people realistically can support 4 games a week. As before it is up to the players to work out when they will do their battles.

I think we should also come up with a list of scenarios. If people have ideas for some, feel free to post them here. I'll see about finding the last GT packet and use those scenarios.

It was good fun all around. Very well organized and very fun, made me want to play (and paint too). As for next time, I'm all for some teams....just who should my all powerful lizards join up with? That needs to be thought out carefully.
